Cathy McKay graduated from the University of New Hampshire - Durham in 1987 and New England School of Law in 1991. While attending law school full time at night, she worked full time days as a paralegal for the Law Offices of William B. Parnell, then located in Londonderry. She was admitted to the practice of law in New Hampshire in 1991 and Maine in 1992.

After graduating from law school where she served as an editor of the New England Law Review, she worked as a Law Clerk for the New Hampshire Superior Court and traveled throughout New Hampshire's Superior Courts. She is currently a member of both the New Hampshire and Maine Bar Associations.

She concentrates her practice in family law, including collaborative family law. Cathy is a member of the Executive Board of Collaborative Law Alliance - New Hampshire. She is also a member of the Family Law section of the New Hampshire Bar Association.

Cathy is currently working with other Family Law practitioners in New Hampshire bringing Collaborative Divorce to New Hampshire. Collaborative Divorce is a fresh approach to resolving divorce issues without litigation. It is practiced by specially trained and experienced Family Law attorneys who focus their efforts on resolving cases by settlement, without court involvement. Before starting her own family, Cathy was active in the Greater Manchester Jaycees from 1992 to 1996 and served as its president in 1994/95.

Cathy has lived in Southern New Hampshire from childhood. She graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, New Hampshire in 1983 and presently resides in Londonderry with her husband Kevin and her son and daughter. When not working she enjoys spending time with her extended family and occasionally playing golf.
