During the period of representation, your attorney expects you to advise him/her of any developments or changes. You have the same right to have your attorney to keep you up to date on developments on his/her end. Two way communication is essential to your getting the best possible result and to your attorney’s ability to get it for you.

During the period of representation, you will have questions. You should always ask any questions you have. Your attorney works for you and answering those questions is part of the services your attorney is hired to provide.

When the representation is concluded, you should receive an explanation of the final result and anything further that you may need to do. The explanation may be by phone, letter or in person. Your attorney will also answer any questions you have at that point about what occurred, so be sure to ask them.

Remember that communication and asking and answering questions are your responsibility and that of your attorney. Do these things well and the experience will be a good one for you.
